In 1998, she obtained her first degree from the Department of French Language and Literature at Athens University (ptychio). In 2000, she completed her Master\u2019s studies in Linguistics at the University of Paris 7 and in 2007 she obtained her PhD from the universities Paris-Sorbonne and Utrecht (PhD in co-tutelle). During her PhD studies, she taught Linguistics at the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics (2003, 2005, 2007\/UIL-OTS) and visited as research fellow Chicago University, Stanford University, Palo Alto Research Center and Yale University (scholarship from the Dutch National Organization for Scientific Research (NWO)). <\/p>\n<p>After the completion of her PhD studies, she worked as postdoctoral researcher at UIL-OTS (2007), at the department of Philology of Athens University and at the DMS (2008-2009, Greek State Scholarships Foundation) and at the Linguistics Institute of Stuttgart University (2008-2010, Rubicon grant from NWO). Since 2008, she has been teaching Linguistics courses at the University of the Aegean, at the University of Athens and at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. <\/p>\n<p>Her research focuses on topics related to the theoretical and comparative analysis of languages on the semantic level and extends to topics related to syntax, pragmatics and language acquisition. More specifically, it concentrates on (in)definites, free choice items, negation, quantifiers, modals and verbal aspect. Her PhD dissertation entitled Free choice in and out of context: semantics and distribution of French, Greek and English free choice items (2007, LOT, ISBN 978-90-78328-27-8) dealt with the semantics and distribution free choice (in)definites  in a cross-linguistic perspective and developed a theory of free choice items\u2019 distribution that relies on the interaction of their lexical semantic properties (semantic features) with the semantic\/pragmatic properties of the context. She has published papers in linguistics journals (Lingua, Langue fran\u00e7aise, Linguistics in the Netherlands, S\u00e9manticlop\u00e9die), edited volumes (\u0394\u03b9\u03b5\u03b8\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2 \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 \u03b5\u03c5\u03c1\u03c9\u03c0\u03b1\u03ca\u03ba\u03ae \u03c0\u03bf\u03bb\u03b9\u03c4\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae-\u0397 \u039c\u03b5\u03c3\u03cc\u03b3\u03b5\u03b9\u03bf\u03c2 \u03c7\u03b8\u03b5\u03c2 \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 \u03c3\u03ae\u03bc\u03b5\u03c1\u03b1, Ind\u00e9finis et pr\u00e9dication, Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS Yearbook, Issues at the Semantics-Pragmatics interface) and conference proceedings (TLS, MIT working papers in linguistics, \u039c\u03b5\u03bb\u03ad\u03c4\u03b5\u03c2 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03b7\u03bd \u03b5\u03bb\u03bb\u03b7\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae \u03b3\u03bb\u03ce\u03c3\u03c3\u03b1, Selected Papers on Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Console). She has been coeditor of the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS Yearbook (2003) and of the volume Les termes de choix libre du fran\u00e7ais (Langue fran\u00e7aise vol. 166, 2, 2010). <\/p>\n<p>Since 2010 she has been working as external researcher for the project \u201cDire et laisser inf\u00e9rer: la quantification dans les langues naturelles\u201d (University of Paris-Sorbonne). In 2013 she carried out research for the research program \u201cMulti-Islandism\u201d (University of the Aegean). In 2014, she was the scientific coordinator of the research study \u201cBefore the flame goes out: documentation of the Yevanic dialect\u201d that has been sponsored by I. S.
