{"id":1371,"date":"2015-04-23T12:52:07","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T12:52:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dms.aegean.gr\/?page_id=1371"},"modified":"2025-06-14T08:27:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T08:27:08","slug":"conditions-for-obtaining-a-degree","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dms.aegean.gr\/en\/undergraduate-studies\/conditions-for-obtaining-a-degree\/","title":{"rendered":"Conditions for obtaining a degree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Students who have entered the Department from 2025-26 onwards:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain the degree of the Department they are required to take\u00a0<strong>144 Credits<\/strong>\u00a0(240 ECTS) which correspond to\u00a0<strong>48 modules<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>16<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory Core modules: 16\u00d75 ECTS = 80 ECTS \/ 16\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>48 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4<\/strong>\u00a0Elective Compulsory Core modules: 4\u00d75 ECTS = 20 ECTS \/ 4\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>12 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>13<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory Division modules: 13\u00d75 = 65 ECTS \/ 13\u00d73Credits =\u00a0<strong>39 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>6\u00a0<\/strong>Elective Compulsory Division modules: 6\u00d75 ECTS = 30 ECTS \/ 6\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>18 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3\u00a0<\/strong>Elective modules: 3\u00d75 ECTS = 15 ECTS \/ 3\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>9 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Modules of Pedagogical and Didactic Competence are among the Elective Modules.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory levels for any of the Foreign Languages offered (Hebrew or Arabic or Turkish). Successful completion of the modules of The Foreign Language they choose is a prerequisite for students in order to obtain their degree and they are credited with 6\u00d75 = 40 ECTS \/ 6\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>18\u00a0Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The dissertation, which corresponds to 15 ECTS \/ 3\u00d73 Credits =<strong>\u00a09 Credits,\u00a0<\/strong>replaces three (3) Elective Division courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Students who have entered the Department from 2013-14 to 2024-25:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain the degree of the Department they are required to take\u00a0<strong>156 Credits<\/strong>\u00a0(at least 240 ECTS) which correspond to\u00a0<strong>52 modules<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>16<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory Core modules: 16\u00d75 ECTS = 80 ECTS \/ 16\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>48 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0Elective Compulsory Core modules: 6\u00d75 ECTS = 20 ECTS \/ 6\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>18 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>13<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory Division modules: 13\u00d75 = 65 ECTS \/ 13\u00d73Credits =\u00a0<strong>39 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>6\u00a0<\/strong>Elective Compulsory Division modules: 6\u00d75 ECTS = 30 ECTS \/ 6\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>18 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>5\u00a0<\/strong>Elective modules: 5\u00d75 ECTS = 25 ECTS \/ 5\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>15 Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Modules of Pedagogical and Didactic Competence are among the Elective Modules.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0Compulsory levels for any of the Foreign Languages offered (Hebrew or Arabic or Turkish). Successful completion of the modules of The Foreign Language they choose is a prerequisite for students in order to obtain their degree and they are credited with 6\u00d75 = 40 ECTS \/ 6\u00d73 Credits =\u00a0<strong>18\u00a0Credits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The dissertation, which corresponds to 15 ECTS \/ 3\u00d73 Credits =<strong>\u00a09 Credits,\u00a0<\/strong>replaces three (3) Elective Division courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special requirements are defined for students who have entered the Department from 1999-2000 to 2012-2013.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Regardless of which academic year students have entered:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Modules of Groups A (Issues of Teaching and Education), B (Issues of Learning and Teaching) and C (Special Didactics and Internship) belong to the Elective modules, except for \u201cDigital Technologies in Education\u201d, &#8221; Foreign\/Second Language Teaching&#8221;, &#8220;Teaching Mediterranean Languages to L1 Greek Students&#8221;, &#8220;Didactics of Greek as Second\/Foreign Language&#8221; and &#8220;Humanities Didactics and Practical Training&#8221;, which are offered as a Division Elective module. In case students choose this as a Division module, they must choose other Elective modules.<\/p>\n<p>The modules of Groups A and B may be chosen only by students of the 3rd or later years.
