Students who have entered the Department from 2019-20 onwards:
To obtain the degree of the Department they are required to take 162 Credits (at least 240 ECTS) which correspond to 54 modules:
- 16 Compulsory Core modules: 16×5 ECTS = 80 ECTS / 16×3 Credits = 48 Credits
- 6 Elective Compulsory Core modules: 6×5 ECTS = 30 ECTS / 6×3 Credits = 18 Credits
- 13 Compulsory Division modules: 13×5 = 65 ECTS / 13×3Credits = 39 Credits
- 6 Elective Compulsory Division modules: 6×5 ECTS = 30 ECTS / 6×3 Credits = 18 Credits
- 5 Elective modules: 5×5 ECTS = 25 ECTS / 5×3 Credits = 15 Credits
Modules of Pedagogical and Didactic Competence are among the Elective Modules
- 8 Compulsory levels for any of the Foreign Languages offered (Hebrew or Arabic or Turkish). Successful completion of the modules of The Foreign Language they choose is a prerequisite for students in order to obtain their degree and they are credited with 8×5 = 40 ECTS / 8×3 Credits = 24 Credits
- The dissertation, which corresponds to 15 ECTS / 3×3 Credits = 9 Credits, replaces three (3) Elective Division courses.
Students who have entered until 2018-19:
To acquire the Degree of the Department students are required to take 156 Credits (at least 240 ECTS) which means 52 modules:
- 16 Compulsory Core modules: 16×5 ECTS = 80 ECTS / 16×3 Credits = 48 Credits
- 6 Elective Compulsory Core modules: 6×5 ECTS = 30 ECTS / 6×3 Credits = 18 Credits
- 13 Compulsory Division modules: 13×5 = 65 ECTS / 13×3Credits = 39 Credits
- 6 Elective Compulsory Division modules: 6×5 ECTS = 30 ECTS / 6×3 Credits = 18 Credits
- 5 Elective modules: 5×5 ECTS = 25 ECTS / 5×3 Credits = 15 Credits
Modules of Pedagogical and Didactic Competence are among the Elective Modules

Regardless of which academic year students have entered:
Modules of groups A (Issues of Teaching and Education), B (Issues of Learning and Teaching) Γ (Special Didactics and Internship) of the Studies program 2019-20 belong to the Elective modules, not to the Core or Division modules, except for “Digital Technologies in Education” module, which is offered as a Division Elective module. In case students choose this as a Division module, they must choose one more Elective module.
To acquire Pedagogical Competence students are required to successfully complete one (1) module from Group A, one (1) module from Group B and one (1) module from Group Γ. These three modules will be the 3 out of the 5 Elective modules required to obtain the degree.
The Modules offered by the Department of Primary Education and the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Design of group A may be chosen only by students of the 4th or later years. In these modules there will be a maximum number of students:30
Modules offered by the Department of Primary Education and the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Design of group B may be chosen only by students of the 4th or later years. In these modules there will be a maximum number of students:30
The modules offered by DMS of the groups B and Γ can only be chosen by students of the 4th and later years.
Every student may enroll in one (1) module out of the offered modules of Group A and in (1) module out of the offered modules of Group B every semester.
