Chryssoula Papadopoulou is an instructor of Modern Hebrew at the Department of Mediterranean Studies, University of the Aegean, Greece. She received both her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Department of French Language and Literature, Aristotle University, Greece. She studied General Linguistics at Eötvös Lorànd University of Budapest and at the University of Lausanne. She has also studied Semitic Linguistics and Modern Hebrew at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Rothberg School of Overseas Students). She is also a translator and editor of Modern Israeli Literature. She is a member of the Greek Scientific Society of Middle East Studies as well as the European Association of Israel Studies (S.O.A.S., University of London). Her main research interests are related to Modern Hebrew language and literature, translation and the study of languages (Semitic, Turkic, Finno-Ugric, Baltic, Romance).
